High Velocity Bowling PS3 Review
What I Liked:
1. Best use of SIXAXIS motion controls in a PS3 game to date. Wii Sports Bowling still feels more intuitive, but this isn’t bad when you get used to it.
2. Challenges and Tournaments give you something to do other than just straight up bowling 10 frames.
3. Interesting mix of bowlers and balls.
4. Good for an inexpensive time-waster.
What I Didn’t Like:
1. Gets old too quickly.
2. Leaderboards are a joke. (even the bowling in GTA4 keeps more stats) Basically it tracks how many 300 games you’ve bowled and the number of patches you’ve earned. No online play.
3. Lacks depth. A career mode would have been nice.
Gay: You can BUY new characters on the PSN Store. Why exactly? Seems like a waste of money for a game that lacks a lot of depth.
Final BS Rating: 0 MEH
Closing Statement: High Velocity Bowling is a cheap but decent game of bowling. If you’ve got about $10 bucks floating around and are bored on the weekend, this could help fill in a few hours. Don’t expect to spend a lot of time with it unless you really really love bowling games.
